Tamil language and epics

The Tamil language seems to be one of the oldest languages in world. According to the earliest sanga Tamil literature it has been proved that the Tamil language has originated 2000 years ago itself. The people of Tamilnadu speak this language only.

They seem to be very proud of their language. This language has 247 characters. There are many great epics like Silappatikaram, Manimegalai, Civaka Cintamani, Valayaapathi, Kundalakesi and thirukural which still speaks the power of this language.
